60mpg, is it possible?

60mpg isn't that remarkable really - my mondeo tdci used to average mid 50s on a long run if driven carefully

Tonight I got 61.4mpg driving up to London from Southampton, by the time I got into Hammersmith that was down to 58. That was from a BMW 318i. However driving back at the same speed I only got 48mpg. There was obviously a hefty fresh SW breeze tonight!

Got over 70mpg out of a diesel mondeo on a reasonable run a while back. 60 should be possible in most small diesels.

Currently averaging 18mpg. Life's never been more fun!
