after getting my kit yesterday and staying up allnight(just to get the damn thing to load windows)im getting a bit happier

spec:
6400 conroe
ds3 now with f4e bios not the f1 it came with!
geil 2 gb pc4400

vcore 1.45
ram at 5 5 5 5 15
425 fsb /ram at 850
all volts up .1v ?
3.4 ghz

watercooled with an alphcool nexxos block/custom setup
no load 27-28 ish 37 degs running 2 instances of prime together and stable so far...

to be honest performance is great at a lower speed but i will pursue a better overclock in the interest of science...lol

will update..

Corky,

Nice one mate :) This is the same hardware as im expecting to arrive monday: 6400 Conroe/DS3/Geil pc6400 but will be cooled by air and a ninja :D I will be well happy with 3.4Ghz.

Keep us posted and will post ,y findinges here when its all up and running.

Cheers,
Hugest

well update, seemed to struggle past 440 fsb.....hmn found out why -my TRAS was set to 5 and still ran at 3.4 gig!!!!!changed to 12-15 and the roof has been lifted-ive just been in windows at just over 2.8 but would need tweaking for stability.

so ive gone back to 440 * 8 which is 3.52 ghz and is priming -will update next stable clock. :p

noob question: whats TRAS and its affect on the world of OC?

sorry :(
im no expert on the granular setting of todays ram but i think that
tras is cycle time of ram and at the speed of my ram it should have had a bitch fit at 5 instead of 15....basically it was way way to tight to run stable but it did ...good ole geil

Hi there not sure if it's a mistake but the 4th 5 should be a 12 minimum like this : 5-5-5-12 but it's rated speed is 4-4-4-12 that 5 is far too tight suprised it runs at that unless it's a typo.

Let us know how it does @ 4-4-4-12 :-)

no m8 in bios t-ras was set to 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!yes i know this probably shouldnt have done 3.4 gig at 1:1 but it did...i was wondering why my fsb was holding me back...lol changed it to 15 and now im workingon highest stable clock-then ill clock it down and tighten ram up but not tried 4,4,4,12 as yet.

Great news love it when it comes together, quickly tell us more. :D

update stable @3.55gig
now running [email protected] 452 *8 multi ...
well im chuft with this-ill carry on too limit.......to post "what it can do" then run at 3.4 gig 24-7.

I've just this minute finished setting up that same combo: E6300/DS3/Geil 6400. I haven't overclocked anything yet, in fact the vidcard is also running at stock, and the system beats my old s/d 3700 at 2.6ghz at stock! Booted up first time with no probs at all (especially no memory probs).
I'm gonna let it settle tonight then see if it'll do 3ghz later tonight.

Must change me sig :p

deffo doesnt like high ram related voltage increase, becomes unstable -im priming just under 3.7 ghz.....see what happens-ive knocked vdimm back to 0.2 v increase so running ram at 2.0v.

just observed upto .04 vcore fluctuation at 3.7 gig and is causing unstablity i feel?have read about this....any thoughts?
