Hi all,

Im buying a few upgrades to make my room a bit smarter and desk a nicer place to sit.

Im thinking of investing in a 20Inch TFT but I only have a BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra OC which isnt a lot these days.

Im just wondering how this card would perform with a 20inch screen, What could I expect from games in terms of screen res and detail levels etc?

Cheers

I had until last December a stock AGP 6800GT TD256 and this worked fine @ 1600x1200 on my old Dell 20.1 " TFT. You can get reasonable FPS as long as you do not expect to use max AA & AF. Vsync also needs enabling otherwise the tearing is visible.

Thats good to know, I wouldnt expect to be able to get max AF or AA obviously, but was it possible to get some reasonable graphics settings at 1600 x 1200 and still get a decent FPS or did you have to lower the detail and effects right down?

Edit: - I would be looking at a nice PCI-e graphics upgrade in a few of months anyway, but we are probably talking after christmas, Jan or Feb so obviously I still want things to look decent in the mean time.

I also had a 6800 Ultra not long ago and 1680 x 1050/1600 x 1200 should be fine at high/medium, without or little AA/AF.
