I have had problems getting two 6800GS cards working correctly in SLI on an Asus A8N SLI Premium. In the end, the primary slot on the board would not work, so bought new A8N32 board.
Has any one had any problems or have any tips re installing SLI on the Asus boards? My 6800GS cards are XFX.

Thanks in advance

Roger

I used the standard software drivers with the XFX cards. Perhaps I should download the latest drivers from Nvidia before I start on the new board.

I did get SLI for a while, then it seemed to default. The XFX manual says use the lower (secondary) card to connect the monitor, but I then got a big black nothing! Plug it back in the top and I it worked but no in SLI. Eventually both ports gave a big black nothing! I defaulted the BIOS (which was set to dual cards) and it went back to working on the lower card but could not set SLI, infact in device manager it only showd one card, in the breif time it was working ion SLI it showd two cards!!!!

I get contary advice as to exactly which card to use for the monitor (DVI)

Thanks for that. That is the first positive answer to the 'where do I plug my monitor'.

Is there an easy way to take out a PCI express grafx card. Cant seem to get the end of the card past the plastic clip at the rear of the slot, or am I being really stupid?
