Quick question would 6gb tri channel kit work ok on a dual channel am3 setup? Not sure if the slots have to be balanced as such? I know its only going to run dual channel which is fine but is it likely to cause me any problems?
6gb DDR3 i7 kit on AM3?

I believe if you use a set of 3 DIMMS in a dual channel board, they will drop down to single channel mode. Which particular AM3 board are you running?
You can usually only get it running in dual channel mode with 2 or 4 sticks.
I would suggest getting a dual channel kit instead.

I will try and shift my patriot 6gb kit in favour of a dual channel one probably, just thought if it would work would save me the hassle
