6v battery ' hack ' - save on AA batteries for controllers

one of those AA batteries will last about 1/7th of the time of a normal one so not worth it. Plus dont the 6V ones use 4 smaller (but bigger than AA) batteries?

Perhaps if you really care a great deal about battery longevity, grab some high capacity rechargeables and a quick charger. Though this will mean a small pause of gameplay, you'd need to pause to grab your play and charge anyway!

I've got a play and charge, but the batteries and charger route is best if you've more than a couple of controllers in heavy use IMHO

EDIT: Seems MS are playing with the site a bit, least the actual live service is still up!

save a couple of hundred dollars a year? wtf??

I have a 15 quid play and charge kit for my 360, and i have a dozen rechargable batteries and a charger for my Wii. Total outlay for both systems about 30 quid, and will last about 3 years i would expect.
