7.1+ sound card and speaker system?

What's the best 7.1 (or is there 9.1 or 11.1?) sound card and speaker system? Primarily for games but also for music.

I don't need all the fancy crap that comes with the top of the range cards. I have a Microsoft remote and don't need to plug in any external amp or musical instruments. I'm not a producer!

I got a lovely X-Fi Fatality and some Creative Gigaworks S750's, which are forking lovely in XP... however.

I have Vista, but don't want to install it as, from what I hear, Creative just are not up to the standard in drivers. I probably will install it, but not looking forward to it.

So, as I was meaning to say: depends what OS you're on. But my stuff is utterly spectacular on XP.
