7/16" tubing very loose on 1/2" barbs?? Urgent help please

Boil kettle.
Fill mug with boiling water.
Dip end of tubing in for 20-30 seconds.
Place tubing on barb.
Allow to cool (and shrink fit).

Sorted;).

Thanks, missed that.

The problem must be with the polymer in the pipe making it very slippery & easy to pull off.
The quickest solution is to fit cable ties.
If you want to take the loop apart webbo's suggestion is very good with preforming the pipe.
You could also do what I did and fit clips by koolance.

Something wrong somewhere. I had the same tygon tubing and the same ek barbs and i had to use the hot water technique to get the tube on and cut the tube to get it off afterwards.

Have you checked the id of your tube just to make sure it's what you ordered?

only choice unless you want to replace something is hose clips or jubilee clips. It will leak if you fire up the pump as it is now and could be costly.

I've got a hose clip spare, so I'll attach that on now :)
Thanks for the help everyone. Problem is that it's the only one i've noticed. The others could potentially leak when I turn the pump on, and I'll have no clue about it atm :\

When pipe is being manufactured & packed it has a natural coil to it.
It looks like you are going against its natural coil & its trying to pull itself off.
Grab the pipe & twist it on the bard until the twist is going in the same direction as the natural coil.

You're a mind reader. That's the reason I made this thread. I was twisting the tube and it came off a little bit, with bits of water coming out :p. Twisting hasn't helped the kink, I'm hoping the coils will help though :)

Has the leak improved ?

For you to have that sort of kink, do you have the pipe to tight & there is extra strain on the joint.

Is the leak from the top right hand side of the fitting as you look at the photo

I don't think it will.

You are putting to much force in the bottom left hand corner & this is casing the top right to open up.

To stop this you will have to clamp it.

If you do not want to do this, how about fitting a 30 deg bend in the bottom of the card to help it around that sharp section?

I'll be able to clamp it, I have a clamp. So this means that there's no point in turning the pump on until I get my anti-kink coils?

I don't think anti kink coils will do much to help that (they are more to prevent not cure), i think like piggin said putting a 30deg bend in would make sense.
