7 Royal Marines arrested on suspicion of murder

Apparently the video showed the Marines discussing whether or not to give an injured insurgent first aid, the video ended shortly after and the insurgent eventually died. So I'm guessing they didn't give him first aid and he died as a result of that alone.

Now 5 Marines have been charged with muder? What a joke!

considering under the rules of engagement and the Geneva convention, you are supposed to give first aid to captured enemy combatants, so yeah they broke some pretty serious rules there, deserved if they get found guilty.

Its war not a slight disagreement, all well and good going on about rules of engagement, i have a few mates over there and they say its very common for them to be shot at only to find the shooter puts his gun down. IMO they should still have a well placed shot to the head.

Tis more beneficial in the grand scheme of things that terry taliban is brought in alive for medical treatment then a friendly chat with some people who are trained in conducting friendly chats with terry nd his buddies. Not much information can be exploited if he's dead and a reputation for summary executions or leaving people to die etc.. isn't going to aid in any future negotiations with moderate types, eventual withdrawal etc...

"We have just received an update that we would like to share. The Taliban Terrorist in this case was injured and died from his wounds. The men charged with the murder of this man are guilty of nothing more than a failure to act: failure to take action when action is necessary. They refused to give first aid as he had previously been shooting at them and their colleagues."

totally agree mate, Just nuke the raghead ****ers and all the people who winge and moan about what our boys are doing

A comment from someone on the Facebook page. I like the idea of that. Tiny tiny nuclear bombs that are only small enough to kill one person at a time.

It's legally impossible to commit murder through an act of pure omission. The only way they could be charged with murder if they did leave him to die would be if they had unlawfully injured him in the first place.
