Yes.

The ram may have two XMP profiles which you set in the BIOS which sets it up for you.

One profile for 2400MHz the other maybe 2133MHz.

If it only has the one higher speed profile just change the ram ratio from 24x to 21.33x

21.33x100MHz (the base clock speed) = 2133MHz.

Ok I'm getting there, hopefully make an order tomorrow sometime.

1. I've chnaged the RAM based on the idea that it'll look better (colour match), it's slightly slower than the Team Group stuff but I'm thinking I can still overclock pretty good still with this stuff?

2. I'll be using a Corsair H100i cooler. As I understand, I'll only be able to use two fans with the radiator as there isn't any extra room in the case that I've chosen (Corsair 600T)and I'm pretty dead set on using this case.

3. I've read up about the stock fans on the H100i being quite rubbish with people changing them? Can someone point me in the right direction to which Corsair ones to get? (AF120 quiet/performance - SP120 PWN High pressure / low noise high pressure - SP120 performance/quiet.

4. Will I have enough clearance in the case, what with the cooling (H100i) to use the above RAM?

Cheers

1) Vengeance pro RAM clocks ok, nothing mind blowing but 2400Mhz should be achievable.

2) think you are correct as the extra set of fans will lower the unit down too close to the motherboard VRM heatsink located above the CPU.

But ignore push/pull as the gains are less than 3 degrees C maybe more like 1.

3) Corsair are giving out replacement fans for the H100i if you ask, these are PWM too.

4) Yes.

Hi there,

I've come down to what I think could be my final build!

dx0743.png

Few questions though..

1. I've gone with this 2400mhz geil memory, as it'll colour match the rest of the rig. Is this RAM decent? As in fast and good for overclocking? Will I have trouble fitting it into the system in ragards to the heatspredders on them?

2. Any other recommendations for the psu? I'm looking for a fully modular which is decent. I'm unsure if this Corsair psu will work with the case, as ive read up about the case needing a molex connection and modular psus don't have this??

4. I'm after nzxt white braided cables, which ones do I need?

3. Does everything look ok and will work together?

Cheers :)

1. Looks fine. The heatspreaders won't be an issue as you've got an h100i in there. Not very big, y'see.

2. I'm not sure who told you that modular PSUs don't have molex cables...There are molex pictured on the OcUK product page, so you'll be fine. As for alternatives, I would (and did) get the Seasonic 650w. It's semi-modular, but only the 24-pin, 8-pin CPU, and the 8-pin and 6-pin PCI cables are hardwired - all of which you'll definitely be using. Better quality unit, too.

"4." Basics:
YOUR BASKET
1 x NZXT 24-Pin ATX White Sleeved 25cm Extension Cable - CB-24P (BWW) £10.99
1 x NZXT 8 Pin PCI-E White Sleeved 45cm Extension Cable (CBW-8V-45) £8.99
1 x NZXT 8-Pin (EPS12V) White Sleeved 25cm Extension Cable - CB-8P (BWW) £8.99
1 x NZXT 6 Pin PCI-E Black Sleeved 25cm Extension Cable White (CBW-6V) £5.99
Total : £37.93 (includes shipping : £2.48).

Bitfenix do braided cables, too. They have bundle of the above cables for £29, but it's out of stock.

3. Looks good.
