There was another which had a list of international prices, but I so many sites in my history it will be a pain to find. :)

But the £399 looks confirmed and it make sense as I had it at that based on the GTX FE being £619.

The £329 (TBC) may be right, my guess is £340+ for the partners cards.

£400 when you will be able to get a partner 1080 for £500 soon (the lower end 1080's are already nearly that price) just isn't worth it.

If the 1080 drops to £500, if that happens it's not likely till well after 1070 launch, the bottom end 1070s will also drop by the same amount, so the price difference will be the same.

If my pricing is correct that's a £185 difference, not small change for most people. I suspect after the initial launch when partner card are readily available majority of FE card sales will be for complete systems sold by the likes of Dell.

Price annoys me, but more so people claiming the fastest card on the market is mid range...

Mid range is like £250-350 tops, and NOT the fastest card either, the whole definition of middle doesn't mean top!

What the 1080 is is high end card at enthusiast price point. Pricing will obviously be "corrected" when the 1080ti comes out, at the moment people are paying early adopter prices.

Doesn't help there is no competition either.

Yes it is mid range. It's mid range silicon. Just like the 680 was, nvidia were laughing all the way to the bank. Wait, this is the BEST card they can make /cue raucous laughter by the board directors. Oh we don't have to release our best, we can just hold back. Wait for them to catch up then release a new card with old silicon and still beat AMD /cue raucous laughter.

If AMD were actually competing at the same level, nvidia would have no time to rest on their laurels, 1080 would be the mid range, 1070 would be mass market, 1080ti would be the top end or even the eventual 1180ti would be the top end.

Unfortunately since nvidia are SO FAR ahead in terms of performance they can divvy up the silicon, adjust the clock speeds to create cards at every price and performance point and switch on that profit vaccuum. Look at it go, it's literally hoovering up money!!

Why would prices drop?! nvidia pretty much has controll over the gpu market. why would they shoot themselves in the foot? Prices of 970 / 980 did not drop over 1.5 years

Precisely. As I've said in previous posts, I paid £230 for my 970 over a year ago now. Fast forward to June 2016 and they're still selling for that sort of price.

If the Founders does launch at £400 or more in the UK, which lets face it is a real possibility, then you are unlikely to find a 1070 on the good side of £300 pre-Christmas. Most after market solutions are likely to come in at the £350 range, minimum.

Nah. The Clown Edition 1070 with that awful plastic looking cooler will come in at about £320/30. You heard it here first ;)

One way of looking at this is:

recommended price for 1080 FE is $699. Proper 3rd party cards are that number in £ less £50

recommended price for 1070 FE is $449. Proper 3rd party cards will be that number in £ less £50 e.g. £400. and £350 for clown edition

Other way of looking at this:

980 was £450 at launch whereas 1080 was £650 that's 44% increase
970 (MSI) was £280 at launch so to follow the same logic 1070 will be £400

No matter how you look at it it's £400 :(

That's my bet as well. The FE will be between £400 and £420.

£420 would make it exactly £200 less than its bigger brother which is enough to tempt average Joe but small enough to persuade committed enthusiasts to just go the whole way to the 1080.

Pessimistic guess would be applying .97 conversion ratio they used for 1080 MSI version ($699 FE = £650 MSI) which would give £435 for 1070 MSI ($449 x .97)
