£700 of upgrades

Hi going to upgrade my system to the cost of around £700, it will be used mostly for gaming, i made a list of items i found on the Oc site if use have any ideas of somethin btr at the same price (or cheaper

) plz say.

Oh btw i have a 8800gtx, coolermaster case and a 7.1 audigy 2 zs. So im only changing mobo, ram, cpu and my psu and sticking vista on a new hardrive.

Do you need a new PSU?? if you old one is ok with that GTX you should be fine.

also personally i would stay away form Nforce boards unless you are planing to use SLI they are normally rubbish, get a rock solid P35

also you can only use two sticks of that ram, as the fancy heatsinks block the other slots, but who needs 8GB or ram

ill need the new psu because im giving this one to someone, yea im aware of the heatsinks taking up the extra ram slots, btw is there 2 gig sticks that dont take up the extra slots for around the same price.

As for the nforce board i was plainning on goin sli eventually but i heard the bios on the board wasnt tht good? dont really no much about the p35 ill look it up now, is it faster than the nforce?

What would be the power requirements of the items ive listed is 850w overkill or would that suit it. Btw i will prob be going sli sooner or later

I'd go for this PSU personally, more than ample for that setup and highly rated, so might as well save the cash.

Unless you are going SLI now, then forget about it. It makes no economic sense to use it as an upgrade path, when a new generation single card will outperform your SLI setup anyway. So, yeah, I'd echo the shout for a P35 chipset, plenty of great boards around that will overclock that quad without any fuss.

just get the Asus P5K-E WiFi-AP, no need for the Premium save the cash, cracking board

EDIT: if you change you MB later you will need a new copy of VISTA, so insure your board is good for 2 years
