Yes. I'm very easily offended. Everything offends me. I cry in my bed at night about the intolerance of people on the internet and the names they call others.

Then again, I'm actually fairly versed in humour, something you don't seem to very good at.

    Fine

    Sorry.

But it's hard for me to find these types in the real world. Even my Liberal,Immigrant, Marxist girlfriend has more of a sense of humour than people on here.

Hey, it's not like I'm a model of calm and restraint. :) I appreciate the understanding.

People, even ones who seem tech savy, seem to forget that the internet is now tailored to them. It actively shows articles, links etc. that it thinks your going to be interested in. Anyone who shares and comments on these SJW stories even saying how stupid they are will get more of them at the top of their searches, feeds etc. as a result.

You seem quite educated on the matter, care to tell us your experiences?

bump - this is nuts, saw this posted on Facebook:

Apologies for the Russia today link, I did try to google this case for some other news sources as I'm not sure about the youtuber - unfortunately most of the publications covering it are right wing christian sites.

Good find. If you want a non-RT article on it, I found The Federalist has it. It's a couple of months old:

    http://thefederalist.com/2018/11/26...on-girl-threatens-dad-losing-son-disagreeing/

Screen shot from the video of something particularly concerning (it's all concerning though, isn't it?)

These are some of the diagnosis criteria that are used to support the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormone treatments. I'm not convinced anything on there justifies such interventions but the highlighted ones in particular have NOTHING to do with biology. You don't wreck someone's genitals because they want to wear a dress. You say: "okay, wear a dress".

Not that this kid appears to want to anyway. There was a similar case in the UK a couple of years ago where the mother was forcing the son to dress as a girl and the separated father was being cut out by her from doing anything about it. Fortunately Social Services saw what was going on though it took exceptional effort by one social worker to get it raised to the awareness of the court and services who were originally siding with the mother for reasons like in this video.

Particularly terrifying that she's seeking a court order to legally force the father to:
    (a) Attend courses on being the parent of a transgender child and transgender awareness.
    (b) Forbid the father from engaging in "non-affirming" behaviour.
    (c) Withdrawal of contact rights with his child if he doesn't submit to the above.

They've already legally forbidden the father from dressing his son as a boy at school, even though his son chooses to wear boys' clothes when his mother isn't around.

I thought the idea was to abolish gender stereotypes, not use them to predict whether a person is transgender...

Completely unsurprised the paediatrician who thinks there son is a girl bills themselves as a Dr specialising in 'modern parenting'

What a coincidence they has a child human test subject son who they just happen to beleive is trans?

This is the cognitive dissonance I feel about the trans debate. I feel that Trans people should be free to express how they like...... but I also feel that there should not be any need for gender stereotypes to be upheld..... so, then, why does your gender need to be defining?

    I can't square that circle.

I'm surprised he's not accusing her of child abuse. It seems she's got more of an agenda she's pushing onto her child than the father has. Surely before she can pursue anything like chemical castration, a psychologist would need to speak to the child. - i.e. has anyone actually asked the child about their thoughts.

It's so very wrong for the mother to be pushing for eventual chemical castration just because the child may dress up as a girl and play with girl toys. But from what i've just read, the child then plays/dresses as a boy whilst they are with the father.

What happens to the child when they're much older and eventually realise that what they went through as a child was completely against their wishes. For something like name changes or dressing up differently can easily be reversed, going through something like chemical castration is surely irreversible? I kinda wonder whether in the future parents will get sued by their child for ruining their life.

The mother in this case is clearly a nut-job. Just listening to some of the things she wants the court to order the father to do, like call the child Luna, surely if the child wants to be called James whilst with the father, then it's pretty evident that the child isn't quite recognising themself as female.

Indeed - I think my sister would have ticked 3, possibly 4 highlighted ones as a kid, though she's happily married to a man now and still living as a women.

I mean she'd wear jeans/t-shirts and have passed down clothes from me, ditto to toys - she ended up getting passed down toys that had initially been bought for me too and of course was influenced by having an older brother - of course she had the usual dolls etc.. but I guess having an older sibling playing with lego etc.. is going to have an influence/preference for boys toys. Likewise there happened to be more boys down my street, we'd all hang out on our bikes etc... She was quite happy to climb trees etc.. get a skateboard for Christmas, play video games etc.. back when video games were associated with being a boy thing.

seemingly being a "tom boy" is used as an indication for being trans???

Indeed. That's one of the key things that brings about "Peak Trans" in people. When they go from thinking the trans movement is about liberation and freedom to express yourself, to seeing actual presentations and books by TRA groups which are solely rooted in gender conformity.

A kids book where a little girl has short hair and plays at "superhero" would be fine. Lots of girls do both and they're no less girls because of it. But a book that takes that and then uses it as evidence someone is a boy and that group is a promoter of medical interventions on children - not so much. Trans ideology is regressive as Hell.

I'm actually surprised people aren't concerned about her agenda when it comes to her professional point of view. What if she's pushing things like this during any of her talks in "modern parenting".

A male relative liked dressing up in girls clothing and playing with dolls as a child.

He's now a married adult living happily with his male partner of five years.

I don't think he would likely be doing so well of he had been chemically castrated aged circa 8 by some quack practicing pseudo science.

This isn't going to stop until the actual medical practitioners start getting sued. Then it will stop in a moment. Right now, there are a lot of people making money out of this.
