7600GT Bottleknecking with my P4?

Which is why I named specific titles that are more CPU-bound...however if he gets poor performance across the board then its highly likely the drivers are the problem.

I'm just going to do a format... Install everything again and hopefully be able to find my chipset drivers from some where !

OK i'll test my system out and see what framerate i get, ley me have all your settings for CS source and i'll get back to you with a compare.

also see sig, i'm running sis chipset, etc no problems.

standard chipset drivers install probably includes sound driver.

then do vga install use latest official drivers from card manufacturer, ati for ati and nvidia for nvidia cards..

after that do windows updates then your good to go.

I now have the VGA in and I've just installed my GFx card. Thing is I've just been to the sis website and in drivers all's that it has listed is the VGA gart driver... I've never been able to install the standard chipset as I didn't know where to find them !

Working as intended ?

Just ran trackmania nations... Settings around medium - high... 4X Max Filtering. :cool:

1280 X 1024 resolution.

Getting about 30 - 90 FPS with an average of about 50FPS... This is so much better.... The format really did do me some good !

Time to try BF2 now... Been wanting to play that game for ages.

Yep... Well at least I hope so... Before the format I benched TM at about 90FPS I believe... Now I bench it on them settings I said above and I'm getting like 130FPS... The first time I benched it I got 160FPS! :eek:

Going to install WoW now... I hope this plays just as good!!!!!

Hey it's me again.

Just installed and tried Spellforce 2 and I'm getting like 30 - 40 FPS no higher than 50... The game does suck but I just wanted to try it...

This *must* be normal, don't you think?

I can't be expecting 80FPS on like everything single game... This is still only a 7600GT...

I'm still yet to try other games, I'm just thinking now has the problem really been solved...

Well if you think of it this way last time I was getting 90FPS in the TM stress test... After format I got 130FPS...

So there is defo some improvement... I'll have to DL 3DMARK03 again and test it on that I think... See if I imporved with my scores..

Do you think it would be safe to overclock my Gfx card now? Just get coolbits and detect optimal settings?

EDIT : Overclocked my Gfx just by a little bit...

Installing CSS now.. Hope I get more than 30FPS!

I've just built a pc with a P4 3ghz (LGA775), 1gb generic memory, 7600gt agp and a 350w generic psu (till the replacement arrives). I'll run a few benchies to give you an summat to compare to.
 
Do you play 40 player raids in WoW? Just interested in performance increase you get from new card from raids/major city choke points.
 
CMSCAM, how goes it.. and by the way merry Christmas. Hope rig is fully up and running.

7600GT CSS stress test i was scoring 100fps average. are you there or better?
