Far far away....
As the tile of the thread really i have the money to do either of the three above but from the benchies I have seen and variouls real world comments i can't decided.

Over too you !

Currently I'm thinking SLI = MORE heat :D
I have 2 7800GTX @ 490/1320 and one of them started overheating. Get the new stuff if you have the money.

I get 10200 in 3Dmark05 & 7271 in 3Dmark06 with a pentium D830@ 3.6 GHz I think yours would do better no matter what the path you choose. ;)

Edit: I remmembered this thread which is asking for the same thing as you are.... have a look http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17563720

If HDR+AA is your thing, then it's ATI all the way. I'm a staunch Nvidia fan myself. In your situation I would get either 2x7900GT (each is faster than a 7800GTX) or a single 7900GTX to give me room for expansion, if I was planning on expanding within the next 6 months.

If this is a big upgrade to last you a year or more, I'd go for SLI. Any upgrade after that time is going to have you looking for a new motherboard for your new Athlon ;)

Personally, I've not long had my 7800GTX 256. My next upgrade will be in about 18 months so will likely be an 8-series card (which I'm sure will have HDR+AA).

I will upgrade the as and when the DX10 cards are available.

Im no fanboy so i don't really mind ATI or Nvidia, i just want to get the best out of the three options available to me.

Thanks!

Well i can't get the same 7800 GTX i have from OcUK and i don't really want to mix and match, the 7900 GTX are out of stock so this leaves me with the ATI 1900XTX.......

Hi there

OcUK have 7900 GTX cards in stock! :)

How big are they in terms of length.....the OcUK 7800GTX cards had what seemed to be an extra piece on the end and I can't really be bothered to re arrange my case!

Thanks Gibbo!

Makes me laugh, stop complaining about no 7900 GTX's in stock, just buy the OcUK one ffs, its still a GTX even thought it doesn't say BFG/XFX on it. :D

I have had OcUK branded cards before.. I was flicking through fast to make my mind up to get the delivery here tommorrow!

These are identical size to any of 7900 GTX as they are NVIDIA reference cards just like all the current BFG and Gainward cards etc. So size is the same, plus we also have Gainward in stock.

I was recently considering this for my 2nd rig to be used on a 32" hdtv, I found that Serious Sam II stuttered on what was basically the rig below apart from having 1 *7800GT instead of the X1900XT

I thought i would buy an SLI mobo, another 7800GT and a 600w PSU............... until i saw the difference in price between a 7800GT and 7900GT ( about £20 or so) so trying to hold out a little longer to get the 2nd card

Have a shuttle coming tomorrow to play with so that will keep me busy setting up windows and FFDshow etc etc for while

Maybe some people want either a better bundle or lifetime warrenty?
I'd avoid the Ocuk ones for the simple fact I know its going to take me a life time to sort something out if something goes wrong. Ocuk - excellent for sales, but I only have bad memories of after sales support.
