7900 GT Or 7600GT in SLI

i am not sure of what graphics cards to get, either 1 7900gt or 2 7600gts in sli mode.

can you help please

7900gt, sli is overkill for a 17" tft

SLI 7600s are quicker than 1 7900GT, i know as ive had both setups. But id still go with the 7900GT tho

why would you go for 1 7900gt if the 2 7600gts are quicker, surely they would be better for dual screen setup and gaming. I would have thouht so any way

The 7600s will be quicker but id go for the single card as youve got the upgrade path to SLI in future if you need it. If you got 2 7600s straight off you have no upgrade route without selling both cards.

Thought SLI doesn't support dual monitor, unless they have added in with new drivers?

Youre right, never thought about that. Not sure if its been added either, but in either case maybe a single faster card is the way forward. If using a dual monitor setup SLI is no go so instead of a 7900gt, have a look at the X1800/X1900 series
