hi recently my graphivcs card seems to revert back to x1 mode after playing an older game, Deus Ex to be precise. it doesnt automatically revert back to x1 mode upon exiting the game, it only *seems* to happen when i play another game, Call of Duty 2 or something recent.
when i load up the game and go to play there is a definate performance drop. exit the game and go to nvidia control pannel to find that the card is in x1 mode. restart the computer and its back to x16 and i can continue to play no problem.
any ideas to what it could be, my first thought was somthing to do with older game using dx7 or somthing
the system has been overclocked for months now without a problem, the only thing i have done is removed the graphics overclock to see if the problem persists, but overclocked or not the problem is still there.
