Was looking at the weekend offers, and spotted the 8800GTS 640. While I realise this is the older model, at £94 inc vat, it looks pretty good.
How would this card stand up to 1920x1200 gaming, I mean obviously its going to be better than my 7900GTO, but how big a gain would I be likely to see. Mostly I play World of Warcraft, which to be honest even the 7900GTO handles well for the most part, and I also completed Oblivion on my setup without too much problem
.
But generally I can play on high settings on most games, but turn AA/AF down to x2 or lower.
Thought was 8800GTS 640 now, and then see what the 9900/10800 (or whatever G200 turns out to be). Or would it be better to save a bit more and just get the G92 GTS 512. I dont want the XFX8800GTX because everyone I know who's had XFX hates them, and even with OcUK providing the warrenty support, I just cant be bothered
I have an E6700, with 4gb ram and xp64, running at stock... Why stock... because no matter how high I clock it with the 7900gto there is 0 difference in games @1920x1200 :/ Obvious bottleneck
