7950 Vapor X 1440p Benches

Have you tried it in games and how is the performance relative to your old card in those?

Yes I tried it in BF3 and used fraps to take an average reading. What is also strange is that textures take longer to load on stock speeds or when overclocked. For example trees and ground terrain would appear to load 0.5-1sec later when I looked in their general direction.

lol but us average Joes are still gaming on 1920 res :D

But to be honest though...if I was to upgrade...I wonder if it would be better to go higher res, or just stick with 1920 but go 120Hz monitors. The idea of even smoother gaming sounds more tempting than higher res...and with the option of trying out 3D as well :p

1440P or higher ftw, upgraded to 2560 x 1440 screen a while back, best upgrade in a long time. Games look amazing, colors, viewing angles and jaggies are so much better on this screen !!

Is this GPU usage normal? This is an example during bf3. I'm sure it should be a straight line and not spike like that. This is at stock boost clocks. No overclocking and no bios change.

For the Nvidia route, it isn't cheap but AMD passive is still a good option and not that expensive for a semi decent monitor.

I don't make you wrong, my trouble is I love it and keep banging on about how good it is. Some people will not get on with it full stop and to the point of 3D making them feel sick.

I really enjoy it in certain games, FPS is not one of them though.
