True that. Chips played a part as well. Though he also played a part in putting me off as he messed up his first install.

The thing annoys me with my card is that I cant see vram temps...

Not yet, i will fit them later this week (when they arrive) and see how much it improves temps.

Nice temps but the 3,6k rpm seems loud or am I wrong?
Only just noticed that my card get 1.25v voltage and seen that other people get no vram temps with HIS card...

The fan speed is reported incorrectly, its about 2200rpm max which is almost silent. The accelero at 100% sounds like a stock fan at 15%.

The card you have many not have vrm monitoring im afraid.

Hey guys without reading through this whole thread could someone tell me how well the heatsinks stuck on?

I fitted a single fan version of this to an old card a few months ago and the grey paste glue stuff didn't seem to stick very well or dry very fast.

I may have not read the instructions properly and wondered if this was an issue as I'm thinking of getting this cooler and msi 7970 next time I get paid.

The paste isn't the best. It takes a skilled tactician to use it. Rather than putting yourself through the stresses and strains of using the supplied G1 may i recommend you use this thermal tape instead.

Its cheap and works well. Tommy used it himself. Its double sided adhesive so you just put that on the gpu then stick the heatsinks on to that. This will wipe hours off the install time. You can stick the sinks on and use it immediately.

If you do happen to get this cooler, can i have your G1? That stuff is like crack to me. Can't get enough of it. I'll be happy to cover any postage costs etc. Maybe we can discuss it further via trust.

You can have mine, that's for sure. I'm not really the patient type so the tape sounds like the better option for me. I'll be buying mine friday, as soon as I get it I'll pm you and get it sent over.

When last I looked earlier today, there were 10+ in stock. I ordered at about 3:50pm and didn't look at stock levels.
I just looked now and it says out of stock.

Well, we either made it through or we didn't. We'll have to see what the next email says.
It wouldn't be so bad if there were any decent 7950's about these days.

If we are SOL on these, maybe OcUK could sort us out one of the B-grade ones with a proper warranty as a goodwill thing? Doubt it somehow and they're probably crap clockers amongst other things, hence being returned...

OcuK might get more of these cards in. I shed a tear last time they sold out and then suddenly a week or two later they were back in stock. I bet this is their number 1 selling 7970. Amongst the fastest and cheapest 7970 card any where.

However i fear that both of you are SOL and tomorrow you will get an email informing you as such. My heart goes out to Petey. We had big plans for that card.

Although on the whole the OC's have done us proud, I imagine the stock 70 will do the same job.

I think it's just a different bios/shroud used, there is no distinguishable difference from what Iv'e seen, don't think they were even speed binned as I haven't heard of any reference not getting to the OC's clocks.

I don't buy it Tommy. The results of the benchmark threads speak for themselves.

However putting my bias aside, i do agree.

I'm not sure that's a reference card. Make sure you ask in CS first.

I remember helping someone who bought that card and it was not reference despite the picture indicating it was.
