7xxx series cards

I don't think you will see the high end cards till 2012 mate, you will see maybe this year the mobile parts and if lucky some low/mid range desktop parts. All the reading I have made from reputable sources online are indicating this and even AMD's behaviour is indicating this to me, last year this time and a month before they were boasting about their new desktop GPUs and same the year before and we got them in November time, this year as you see they are very quiet, which indicates to me they are not ready for 2011 release. Just my feeling but many people tell me I have a good sixth sense ;).

if mobile parts come out this year that would be great for me as i can then upgrade my 6990m. hopefully they dont skimp and we see 2x performance in the mobile department, and that new memory too not gddr5.

Let's hope that when they do finally arrive they perform a bit better than loldozer has.

I'll probably be going for kepler, but at the same time I'm no NV fanboi, if southern islands is faster I'll get it. I'm just doubtful after the all the recent shenanigans.

I'm waiting fairly patiently as I usually upgrade my graphics card with Xmas money. I suspect Amd may pull a flanker and have mid\high range 7***series out before the years end (just wishful thinking on my part), has anyone else noticed a reduction on 6950\6970 cards in stock or is it just my imagination.:D

I hope they do drop some cards before xmas, I was thinking of building a new rig in december but was considering holding off for the new 7xxx cards rather than go for the 6950/70 i had in mind at the moment.

Some other e-tailors have the 6950 toxic as 'discontinued'.

It's not your imagination, mid range(=6950/70) available around the 15th December is my prediction.

A couple of months later for the 7950/70.

All purely guesswork on my behalf of course.

45% faster eh?

Should I irreversibly apply a dremel to the heatsink of this 6750 or not...

The only low profile 6750 this side of the Atlantic at that.

Ah the hell with it.

I just hope the 75** cards which are traditionally low profile don't turn up faster. Or just as bad, the 77** cards are low power enough to be low profile too.

Only one manufacturer was on the glue long enough to think making a 6750 low profile was a good idea.

You never know, AMD 'may' have sent all their decent engineers to the ATi dept to create one hell of a GPU. Hence why bulldozzzzzer was so rubbish.

Most probably what happend was that managers got involved and told all the engineers what to do. Now they are all sat scratching their ar$es wondering WTHH!
