Well guys as you may know
a lot of people includeing me have run into the code 43 error
where 1 of your GPUs has been disabled.
I tryed everything i could think of to get the driver to install properly on my 4870X2
Here is how i fixed it, i know its not what you want to hear but this is what i did to fix my system
* Vista X64*
*ATI 8.12s *
-----------------------
Backup all your data and reinstall your operating system
Install chipset Drivers *reboot*
Install Framework 3.5 then 3.5 Sp1 *reboot*
Install latest Direct X
Go to windows Update * Install everything apart from languages *packs* unless you need 1 *reboot*
then finaly, install 8.12s, once your system reboots the drivers should be working perfectly with both GPUS in tact
-----------------------
I know, its a lot of time wasted but if you do what i said, your crossfire & 4870x2s should be working.
Hope this helps, you guys have no idea the things i tryed before following the steps above.
*WARNING* In future when new cats are released, do not driver sweep or clean sweep or .net drivercleaner pro your system or you could very well end up with the same error
to properly install new cats, its been said so from ati aswell, install the newest versions right over the top of your current versions, also if you need to uninstall them for what ever reason only use ati driver manager to uninstall them before reinstalling a new set, those are the only 2 ways to install cats 100% * WARNING END *
