£80m EuroMillions jackpot

Do we have to pay tax in the uk?

I may be totally wrong on this, but I don't think you can be taxed on receiving the winnings. However, you would have course be taxed in future on the money you have in your accounts. So on winning the Lotto, first order of business is probably getting a good accountant who can advise you on what to do with the money.

80million?

I would be a complet utter ****** and rub it in everyones face. :)

Only a very few people I would help out, that being my best friends and the mother (and obviously my mrs and child). Some to cancer and leukemia charity's and Ashgate Hospice in Chesterfield as they all deserve it.

Anyone who begged for money who get a simple '**** off'.

Then off to buy my massive patch of land for my mansion and mini race circuit. OcUK would be invited to some free track days :D

£80 mill.... Well for starters i would be buying properties in Milan, Miami and Dubai just for starters, followed by a few supercars and would generally just live the dream life one way or another

I bet you wouldn't:D maybe we could do an exchange then, my body for your money lol

lol no! :p

And seriously, I really wouldn't know what to do with that amount of money.

I have my little house, so I'd pay my mortgage off. I have my car, which is old but paid for and I love it that much I'd just have a newer model. I could spend several thousand pounds on a new wardrobe but otherwise there's little else I'd want for.

As an extravagance, I could be tempted to rent a yacht in the harbour at Monaco each year for the Grand Prix :D

Otherwise, just staying healthy and happy will do me :)

As someone else said I think the winnings are tax free but you will be taxed on your earnings.

If was as simple as earning e.g. 3% interest on £80m - that would be ~£2,400,000 interest pa. I believe the tax on that would be 45% leaving £1.32m* after tax. I guess I could cope with that ;)

*correct me If I am wrong.
