My god, so many good memories!

This thread has reminded me of a cartoon movie that i loved to watch when i was a kid, you'll have to excuse the crap description but this was over 15 years ago!

It had a little boy with glasses and i think he was on a island with his parents but they got seperated and he found some little aliens which were like eggs and he became friends with them and kept them in a egg carton - there was a bad guy that wanted them... i know it's the worst description ever, but OcUK detectives, please help me!!
