Seems like a good outcome. £85,000 bill as well.
Out of interest what is the reason for the 2 RAF jets being called out ? What exactly can they do in a situation like this ? I know if there is a hijacking with intent to crash into a landmark or something they can be used to shoot down the plane before it reaches said landmark but when it's just some mental drunk woman having a barney what is their purpose ?
In the report it said they were used to escort the plane back to where it came from but why would it need an escort, if she went mental again what are the jets going to do about it ?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-51478329That will get appealed for sure. I agree she should get a prison sentence for that but I bet you she appeals under "mental health" act or something and get it suspended.
Mr Saxby said she had been diagnosed with mental ill health and had not touched alcohol since 22 June.
I can't see the bit in that article where she had to pay £85,000!!
That’s an old looking 26 year old. Certainly hasn’t aged well.
If the government scraps benefit cap she may be able to pay some back. Proper loser. She's clearly got a drink problem, as she seems to do a min wage (or close to) job and lives with her parents I don't think they have any hope of collecting on that apparent bill. I guess it perhaps does send a message to people who are property owners and/or have more assets... but then again they're probably less likely to have that sort of issue to the same extent as this woman who already has previous for assault several times.
I guess anyone local not tightly buckled would be sucked off,
not possible when pressurised.Would she have been able to open that door? I was under the impression it's impossible to do mid flight due to the external pressure? Let's say she had opened, I guess anyone local not tightly buckled would be sucked off, lots of blowing and many ears popped, but for the most part wouldn't a quick reduction in height and then landing been the outcome?
Does sticking "some nut" in prison for a year seem like a particularly good idea?Might not be possible to open the door but the last thing people on a plane want to see is some nut trying to open it whilst screaming 'I'm going to kill you all...'
