8800 320mb GTS Feb 12th.

well I thought direct x 10 got more out of hardware and hence uses ram etc a hell of a lot better! Im pretty sure thats one of the main aspects of it!

Surely we could be told a rough price ;)

You can always throw another one in SLI later on if you find the memory lacking....2 of these in SLI should significantly outperform a 8800GTX.

%50 more processing power with the same memory

Actually the GTX has more ram than 2x320mb 8800GTS, but yes, later on an SLI addition could be made for a decent performance increase. :)

I sent ocuk a webnote as im sick of waiting to order my things, i asked when pre-orders would be up and was there a guide price?
I got an email back saying they wernt aloud to discuss release date, pre-order date, price or anything. Anything about these cards basically, due to some Disclosure with nvidia or something. Funny how Gibbo already referred to the thread title as being release date though, and other retailers taking pre-orders :S

Not directly, but OcUK are normally a "launch partner" which means they get more stock and probably a sweeter deal.

Just had another hunt around and the price of the 640MB model suddenly seems to be creeping up. The price difference between the 320MB and 640MB is now looking to be £50 - £60 on the no name brands. But with the big names the difference could well be £90 - £100!

does signing the NDA mean they get things cheaper? :D

Hi there

Been a partner with NVIDIA, ATI, AMD, Intel or anybody else for that matter means you get additional benefits.

However unlike some other stores I am not so anal regarding launch dates and NDA's, when such information is already on the web. So yes we do already have stock of 320MB 8800 GTS from BFG, their card is overclocked, the price is very low and you can buy them on the 12th. OcUK won't run out of stock and feel free to pop even into our shop on the 12th to collect one. NVIDIA consider us a great partner as our high-end VGA sales outmatch any other Etailors. Other Etailors beat us on low-end and match or beat us slightly on mid-range but when it comes to revenue we do the most. :)

'Gis a snog'

Sounds brilliant. Ohh, BFG overclocked with a great price, sounds great, especially since its got the warranty.
Ill have my card ready for the 12th then, do they go live as soon as the clock strikes 12? :D

In that case can you give us a ball park price? Are they going to be < £200 inc VAT?
Also, does the NDA lift on the 12th or earlier?

Hi there

Yep got plenty of stock too last, unless we sell 500 per day which I would not complain about. :D

I have said this before, and I WILL say it again, it is basically tradition for me to buy my parts from OCUK. I used to go to a local place that sold lots of stuff, but they have nothing of the selection you guys did, and was tired of them getting 3 CPU's in a week if they were doing well.

If the GPU is <- 200 or so, then that is yet another thing I shall purchase from OCUK :)
