It seems my graphics card has died and I need to get it replaced asap. I'm not really playing any newer games these days, so i don't really need to 'upgrade'. I'm just looking for the cheapest card that will give me similar levels of performance.

I'm completely out of touch with which cards are best bang for buck etc, so looking for any recommendations.

thanks :)

eVga offer a lifetime warranty on their cards, you could get a GTS250 or better as a replacement for it, get a cheap card till then to tide you over?

Good idea. I forgot the card had a lifetime warranty. Looking at the site it seems like you needed to register the card within 30 days of purchase to be eligible for the warranty ... i forgot :o

Thanks for the recommendation on the GTS 250 Grimley. I'll look around at prices.

like most say here the 250GTs is around the same sort of preformance level but personally i would try get a 260 instead there miles faster and i'm sure it's possible just after christmas to find one within budget as many will be selling them for new nvidia cards / christmas prezzie upgrades.

personally im holding out for partner to buy me a 5970 but it's unlikely :( i need a bigger whip clearly.
