about 6 months ago I finally got round to building myself a really nice gaming rig. I bought a BFG 8800 GTS OC2 640MB and was really pleased with it as i had been with my 7800 BFG, but I'm not contemplating adding a second one into the mix, but have been unable to find another one of these cards.

BFG have placed it in the legacy products section, OcUK and other venders dont seem to stock it anymore which leaves me with ebay! (I am unwilling to get from ebay as I have previously had trouble with non-helpful sellers in the past)

Where has this card gone, why is it no longer available... :(

Any one want to buy a 8800 GTS OC2 then? ;)

I will see about changing it over soon, I think I may go for two 9600's as they are cheaper, and the speeds etc seem to be the same, although these stream processors, the 9600 has only 64, where as the 8800 has 112!!! what does that mean?

I dont really want to go to cheap cards, I'd rather spend a little more and get something that is likely to last.

BFG's lifetime warrenty is also a great selling point for me.

Just thought I would also give you the spec of the rest of the machine:

AMD x2 6000+
ASUS CrossHair
2GB Corsair XMS2-6400C4
2x WD Raptor 740ADFD (Raid 0)
Enermax Noisetaker 485W

Its a tidy computer with the 8800GTS and does work well, just want it to be able to keep up with games etc say in about 3 years.

hmmm, seems a bit high tbh but I'll look into it anyway, and perhaps see if I can rig something up to get a decent reading straight from cards.

(Im assuming it draws all of its power direct from the power supply though?)

No they don't. 75w max from the PCI-e slot and 75w from the 6 pin cable.

That seems to make a bit more sense, over 200W for the GFX alone is on the high side, considering a generic 350W powersupply only actually kicks out about 300W continuous (the 350W is peak Maximum and can only be sustained momentarily) and if the GFX uses that much it wouldnt leave much power for anything else! (I've not seen many pre-build computers that are rated much above 350W)

Sorry siege I would but i cant go spending the extra dough really. Im thinking about sending my one back to who I got it from for a refund and changing it for either the 512 GTS or a 9600.

I would have gone for SLi as well but i use Dual monitors and so far every post i have read about dual monitors and SLi is that is doesnt want to work!!!! :(

unless anyone wants to buy 2 x 19" Benq monitors from me???
