8800 gts quite?

Is the fan quite on the gts or does it sound like a hover like on my 7800 gt? p.s my 8800 will be here in the morning

My GTS, although about to be returned due to a problem, is very quiet on AUTO and on 100% you can certainly hear it but I wouldn't say it is intrusive or offensive at all. I have yet to get the card stressed enough during a game to get the fan to an audible level, it is very very impressive.

Mine is an eVGA, don't knw if they differ much from card to card.

I had a 7800GT before, BFG one, and the 8800GTS is a lot quieter.

My BFG card is pretty quiet, when i reboot the pc i hear it speeding up.

apart from that its fine

I dont notice it at all although that may be because the noise is drowned out by my noisy hard drive!

Anyone with experience of a HIS IceQ verses 8800 GTS? For fan loudness was one quieter than the other?

my 8800gts is a lot quieter than my previous card,xfx 7900gt extreme, my whole system seems a lot quieter now

the BFG OC one i have is nice, less noise then 6800 ultra
