Hi guys..

I recently purchased an EVGA 8800 GTX KO ACS3 gfx card from OCUK and its working perfectly apart from one little problem..

If I play a game, say Call Of Duty united Offensive, the game plays fine.
BUT!!! when I exit the game the screen just goes blank and I cant access anything even though I know windows is still running in the background.

I know its still running because I have a Alphacool Display and it still cycles through the various screens.

I physically have to turn off the pc and then turn it back on again to get any display at all..

Is this a common thing with these 8800 cards or is it just mine???

Thanks for any info guys

Anyone?

Ive read that it happened with Java 1.5 installed and said it was fixed in V1.6

I have 1.6 on and it still does it..

I see on some other searches on Google that its not just me thats having the same problems...

Any help is appreciated

This is a long shot buddy, but do you have any programs running underneath in the task bar, steam perhaps? or any torrent programs...

I ask cus not so long ago my desktop used to be corrupted when i exited a game, and this was only fixed by a restart, and it turns out that it was azureus causing it, which as you mentioned uses java...

That would be a good place to start looking...

I have Windows Live Messenger.... Nod32..... Alphacool Display.....Spysweeper... Fraps.. Nvidia Panel...

Thats about it...

Have you tried completely uninstalling java? deleting all the folder etc see if that works then install 1.6 clean.
