About to build a new PC mainly for gaming and have decided on each &every component exept the graphics card.
Like the look of the new Samsung monitor for my rig but is the GTX card overkill for a monitor which will only support res of 1680x1050.
Have heard the GTX is the top dog of any card to have but will the GTS 640mb perform well enough at this resolution?
Cheers

I have a GTS and the same Sammy monitor. Runs everything i can throw at it @ 1650x1050 with all options maxed. Should be pleanty powerful for anything out at the moment. GTX will last a bit longer when the newer games come out but for now the GTS will give you more than enough power.

GTS will do fine. I had a GX2 before the GTX i have presently. Was very similar in performance to a GTS and played everything i threw at it @ 1680x1050.

However, i got offered the BFG in sig for £285 which at the time was too good to miss! :)

If you can afford a GTX (1st or 2nd hand depending on budget) then it's worth it as it means you can bang a game in and set everything to full without even thinking!

The GTS won't disappoint though and should be fine for a good while yet i'd imagine!
