Hi,

I have a k8we with 2 dual core opteron 275 and 4gb ram I also have 2x sataII hitachi disks and 2x dvd rw and a floppy drive.
I am trying to add sli with 8800tx. I have a tagan 1kw supply
however when I plug the second card in it says not enough resources free to use this device. So I removed my X-Fi and my Physix card but it still says not enough resources left what should I try next I still have the old power supply an enermax 660w eps 12v.
any sugestions

simon hartley,
We've seen this problem once or twice, and have no solution for it at themoment. We are unable to provide support for the use of our cards in serverclass machines (essentially, anything with two processors), as these are notbuilt as gaming machines, as our cards are, but rather professional classcomputers. Aside from that, though, have you tried reinstalling Windows with one card inthe system, and after everything is installed, up, and stable, installing the second card?
Thank you,James E

Hello Simon,Thank you for taking the time to log your request with Tyan ComputerCorporation. We will be back in contact with you directly just as soon aswe review your request. To update this request via email click on 'Reply' and delete the originaltext message to avoid redundancy. As the GeForce 8800GTX has just been announced, we did not get the chanceto test this card yet. Once we have tested this, the card will appear onour Video Compatibility list on our websitehttp://www.tyan.com/support/html/video_s2895.html#s2895 For your second issue you will need to contact your Graphic card vendor`ssupport to figure out what D3 State means. Usually the Power supply has twoPCI Ex Power adapters or an adapter will be supplied with the graphic card. You will need to plug the power adapter to two different 12V Rails of thePSU.

why have you built a fairly straight up gaming machine around a server board? Surely you would have been better off getting a core2quad and a gaming sli board if you were hell bent on 4 cpus and a gaming setup? Or is it a server you want to game on?
welll... I was using it for physics calculations and for rendering 3D. I had a 3400fx it went pop :( heard about the 8800 comming soon so bought a cheap ATI x300 (only £50 geat buy) then waited and waited and well bought a 8800gtx.
Note. Tyan sell the board as a workstation not a server board although the difference seems only to be the dual x16 PCi-e slots

plus the board is an SLI recommended board it was on the sli zone
