not sure if this sure go here or in the video card section

My friend is trying to set up a top notch gaming computer.
He has blown half of his budget on a XFX GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB DDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI video card.

When he told he I got some reviews read and by the sounds of it his choice wasnt a bad one! He read the reviews himself and marched off to get one LOL Nice shinney box we got here but unless we get a pci express motherboard its a little wasted.

But it only leaves him about £400 + ish for a motherboard cpu and memory.

i have been looking at the motherboards on overclockers but havent a clue which one would bring out the best in the card?

Can any one of you fine gents point me in the way of the right board.
Intel or AMD? Well havent decided yet was thinking of the E6700 cpu but will see what you sayIf this project is a bit more expensive to get the best then he says he will just stick with what hes got and go with what you guys suggest. I cant see him doing this project again for a while.

Thanks

make sure your psu can handle it, if it cant tell him to save up a bit more and get a corsair 520/620w HX power supply.

Stick with intel... I have the EVGA myself, its great, biased yes, weeks deciding wether to buy the board... hell yes...

EVGA are Nvidia designed, i guess that should compliment the GFX card he already has, 10 year warranty on the board too for piece of mind, etc. It also looks cool as....

As for RAM and CPU, all i suggest is what has already been mentioned... Make sure the PSU is up to the job! I also recommend the Corsair 620w HX PSU, total quality, modular, SLi approved, for what it is, its Very well priced!

Thats my 2p's worth anyways :D
