Hmm, hard call to be honest if your not fussed about cost.

I'd say the HD 5870 due to the featureset and lack of SLI/AFR hassle.

ATi drivers are generally up to snuff nowadays. Never had a prob with drivers with either ATI/AMD or Nvidia to be honest.

You could always go for 2 x 5850's for circa £400 if cost is not an issue. The performance would be amazing.

was there not ati (cross fire) and nvidia sli issues with some mb's, or is that all gone now ?

5870 is defiantly the way to go atm, they are all clocking nicely despite already at stock scratching at 295 performance, not to mention being a lot more power efficient and supporting new technology :D

5870. The 295 is great but it's going to be replaced soon and DX10 is old news.

Mate im in the same situation im either thinking of buying a brand new graphics card like them two. Problem is i heard the new GTX 300's are comming out, now i have already waited 2 months to buy a new GC. How much longer are we looking to wait, for the new GTX cards or the new 5870x2 Cards?

Last thing I heard was that the GT300 Nov launch date was a paper launch and the actual card were now looking like Feb 2010 for general availability, unless nV have gone from A1 silicon and breadboard cards to manufacture withing one month

Yeah, it's anyone's guess when GT300 will be out really. I was going to wait for one, but I had a rubbish week last week so decided to treat myself to a 5850. When GT300 appears, I'll either sell it or buy a second for CrossFire.

Well then to be honest im just going to do what almost every single person has told me, and just buy the latest card out, then sell the old card. Really annoying to wait for a card then being told oh when thats released you should wait maybe 2-3 more months for this card...sigh.

Everything is old news as soon as its released...:(

If i was looking for a card again today, it would be a ATI at this moment in time...

I'm a fan of Nvidia, but since buying my first ATI card in years (4890) i've been pleasantly surprised with the value for money.

RIP 8800
