now I know the 9600GT is the better card but which consumes more power, from what I found on google the 8800GS uses 102w yet the 9600 uses 95w. Is this actually true and how come?

so it is correct that the 9600gt uses less power? if thats the case i may upgrade in the new year. is there enough difference between the 2 for me to spend £90 on the XFX 9600GT 512mb? bear in mind I'd be selling the 880GS, what price are they going for 2nd hand?

I don't mean the power, I mean the speed wise, I'm a little limited on power due to psu so as long as it uses less or equal it doesn't matter. I've seen far cry 2 thrown in for free when buying it and I don't need that so could sell that too

the 4850s do look good but how much more power would they consume? I'd most likely have to upgrade the psu as well, £150 for the gfx and a new psu might be out of budget for the moment, will wait a bit longer then. thanks for the help

a 250w shuttle lol, maybe the 300w model would be enough, although the 450w is only another £30 so maybe that would be more future proof

right well I'll save some money after the new year, I'm spending about £400 on a new camera in Jan so that's enough spending for now. cheers
