8800GS: The new price/performance leader?

I'd say the GT is still price/performance leader judging by the price of the 9600GT and 8800GS being so close to each other. I think the GS is going to be around £120? Not the best card in that price range.

30 more gets you a GT from ocuk:)

The 8800GS is worth it at around 70 imo.

seems to be less than 5fps difference in a lot of game tests at 1600x between GT and GTS. how does the min differ? link?

Having owned both it was more like my impression of the two. Where the 3d mark score of the GT and the GTS were similar, the GTS pulled ahead at 1680 x 1050.

A GS review here, comparing it with the 3850 and 3870, and with those all important minimum frame rates:-

I have seen unbranded ones for around £100, if I could get a decent brand one for that price I'd def. get it (although they are closer to £120 as you say) if only for the fun of seeing how high I can OC the little bugger. I don't do much overclocking these days due to the high cost of parts but at £100 it won't break the bank if I did fry it.

It wont stay at £120 for long though. In the states its price the same as a hd3850-256mb. So expect those prices soon.
That's assuming we don't get the massive stock shortages that seem to be normal nowadays.

The OcUK 8800GT is still about the same price on this site that I paid for mine in November.

I think the GT is still the best for price/performance.

From what I saw there, the GT was considerably further ahead than the GS, and at just around £30 more from OCUK, its still a leader in my opinion.
