I'm guessing but I have run quite a lot on a lesser PSU with no problems (Heavily overclocked pentium D, 2gb ram, 3HDs, 2 optical, 7800gt etc.) and the power requirements aren't that high on the 8800GT.

I myself will only be using a 500w Akasa greenpower.

Yey, the GTS sold 2 mins ago, and the new GT is ordered... Cant wait for it to arrive.. might take 7 days though...

hate to order a drop ship order, but only had enough in paypal... and OCuk dont take paypal.. wounded

Cleaned up PC to remove old ATI drivers.

Installed 8800GT but the Nvidia drivers say no compatible card found???

I have tried the latest beta and the last stable drivers.

Help!!!!!
 
Question : I placed my order for the BFG 512MB at 2pm today and my account, as of 7.45pm, says "In our warehouse queue".

I've ordered loads of things from OCUK over the years but have never really thought about what this means. Does it mean it's being processed or what?

On a side note, 'next day delivery' by City Link in Glasgow means, "Meh, when we get round to it." :mad:

Wounded, had it happen a few times.. just hope they pay in the next day or two. :mad:

I stuck mine on for a very good price, one thirty, and hoped it would attract a fast honest sale. Even if i did lie about my reasons for selling it, im happy now. :D
 
I'm also concerned my PSU might struggle with an 8800GT. Its a PSI model,
500Watts with 26amps on the 12 volt rail. Not sure its going to draw enough power for the card.
 
My Gigabyte 8800GT arrives tomorrow :), what are the best drivers to use ?

I have no clue, as I am jumping ship from Ati

Yes, but in the local papers you can hike the price up and someone who doesn't know that much (your average ** ***** shopper) will think it's cheap :p

Obviously this is too complex for you northerners ;)

If they are reading newspapers for bargain PC hardware, then they probably don't know what he is advertising.

And nothing is too complex for us Northerners, we brought the world the industrial revolution and look what you southerners did with it....turned it into a service economy and Call centre hell :p

Anyway, my GT has been dispatched this evening, should be here in the morning :)

Hehe "my DJ mixer just broke and i'm selling my GTS to afford a new one" well, it's more than partially true, it did break, but oh well, the GT kinda got it the way of buying a new one for this money :P
