8800GT Ramblings Thread

well you could have some free cash in your pocket, GT is very close to GTX in all tests so sell your GTX now for more than what a new GT costs and buy a GT then use the saved money to buy lots of bags of 20p mix sweets!

this has probably been asked already but i have just thought....
what power adaptors with the GT need? i have an enermax 500w modular psu and i know it has an additonal power adaptor to use with my 7900gs, will this be the same for the GT ??

6 pin pci-e

mmmm, I might wait until the 8800GTX prices plummed and snap one up another around £150, therefore getting good performance at not too bad a price. Sucks I just spent so much on one 8800GTX tho! :P

TBH Im not that anal about AA.

things in games happen to fast

Its nice to have at least 2xaa/af like MRK said, i dont like jaggies but would like some level of smoothing. 8800gt should cope with that fine. hopefully with a small overclock the 8800gt should beplayable on high/1680x1050.

I'll tell you tomo:)

It will be fine.

The GT is a beast of a card for the money:)

Faster than a 640mb GTS

Just ordered my card, the Asus version with Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, which i already own so will flog that off and make even more money :p

I got it from another site, which even turned out cheaper with delivery than OCUK without :o

Also has a totally BADASS Company of Heroes picture on the front :D.

1Gb version? At least it won't run out of memory at high res and AA, of course you're probably in single digit frames by then. Or maybe they mean a GX2 version?

We haven't seen many 256MB cards out there, and 1GB ones are coming in December, "When Nvidia adds support in the driver" (as a partner told us). This 1GB version will probably go for the same price you have to shell out for a 512MB one today.
