8800gts and my 1080i tv... something wrong

ok, i have just connected my samsung HD LCD to my 8800gts... when i go into change the resolution settings (vista 32bit version) the max settings that it shows is 1360 x 768...

this cant be right! the lcd has a higher res than that... any ideas why my system is not picking it up?

Is it a 32" by any chance? If it is then that is the correct resolution.

I know my 37" has a res of 1366 x 768 (Ish?) Which is about right. I use Component out to do mine though. Look in your TV specs, it should have the panel Resolution in the tech specs.

Yep, 1080i is NOT the same as 1080p (1920x1080).

EDIT: "Some" 1080i TV's can run at 1920x1080, but most de-interlace the signal to run at their native resolution.

it looks good... better than my 5 year old tft anyway.... just pestering the wife to let me have a new monitor....
