I want a 8800gts, so the question is can my psu take it??

Its the Minimuim requirement although I would say anything over 500 watts witha good Amps on the 12v rails!

the total wattage isn't nearly as important as the amps on the 12V rail, I think a GTS needs a PSU with 26A on the 12V rails.

the psu in the sonata 2 has 2 12v rails. 17A and 18A (ithink cnt be bothered to look :p ). I would use the pci-e adapter it already has, and then use one of the rails with a molex to pcie adapter on aswel and also prbably a hard drive or two on that rail aswel (ithink the gts needs to pcie adapters?? tell me if im wrong!)

GTS only requires 1x PCI-E power connector, its the GTX that requires 2x. :)

I might get the GTS seen as ive discovered that my GlobalWin SuperSilent 520w PSU has got 28a on the 12v Rail, thought it should be pretty hefty as its powering my x1800 XT fine. :)

thnx loadsamoney! i assume my pci-e connecters attahed to the 12v rail then :) so would 17amps be ok if thats the ony thing on that rail?? doesnt the video card also draw some power from the pcie16x slot aswel

The 8800GTS takes 75W from the slot and the rest comes form a PCIe connector, a PSU with 17A + 18A on the 12V rails is more than enough to power a 8800GTS.

If you have a dedicated PCIe connector for videocards that is even better.
