my brother turned on his pc today to find that his monitor was not getting a signal, after a while of checking i swapped to the onboard gpu and the pc runes fine but when he tries running from his 8800ts he doesnt get a signal, now thee graphics card fan spins up but thats it any help please

If it is fixable, the labour costs will be several times what the card is worth. RMA it if it's still under warranty otherwise replace it. But try it in a different PC first, just in case....
I take it you've ruled out it being the hz ? for example the computer is set up for 120hz and the monitor can't cope with that, therefore putting up a message about no signal?

Has the card been tested in another computer?

Check BIOS settings. Make sure the VGA card is set to PCI-Express, and not onboard.
