8800GTS vs 8800GTX

An overclocked GTS gives about (sometimes over, sometimes under) the same performance as a stock GTX on current games. Whether this will remain the same with DX10 and driver maturity only time will tell.

Of course an overclocked GTX will give even more but thats not really needed right now :p unless running at silly resolutions.

Out of the box - GTX.

price vs performance - GTS

However remember these cards are not really stretching their legs with current games. Actual DX10 titles will show the real differences between them and in theory the GTX will always be quicker.

while a GTX would be nice the price you pay for it over a GTS makes it a bad choice IMO

i was lucky i got my XFX GTS for around £315 around 2:10 on the 8th (they jacked the price up to 360 around 15mins later :D)

if the GTX was around 350-400 then it might be worth getting
