8800gtx sli compared to hd5770

I think you are probably right, apparantly it was the first generation/batches of 8800GTX's that used up a fair bit more power than the later revisions.

Always remeber that it is preferable to run a power supply at about 80% max load, I have always prefered to leave a little le-way. Ampage is more important for the PSU than raw Wattage in these senarios, so a quality 650W PSU might do it.
