8800GTX vrs 8800GTS

The 320 does limit you at 1680x1050 having owned one at this res.
I have just performed the exact same upgrade as yourself 8800GTS 320MB to a XFX8800GTX and I hate to say it; but I am seriously underwhelmed!
I estimate I am seeing roughly only a 10% increase in frames across most games.
Bit dissapointed tbh
Something wrong there then. AT 1680 x 1050 I went from a heavily overclocked EVGA AC3 8800GTS 320Mb to a 8800 GTS G92 (similar performance to a GTX) and I found a massive boost in games.

The figures read for themselves - 30% gain in UT3 and 40% in world in conflict.
And all those tests are without AA/AF - switch that on and you are likely to see 50% - 100% improvement in framerate over the 8800 GTS 320MB.
I can't see how that cannot impress you.
This post came in just in time for me as I'm thinking of the same thing.
Although my current options are a new XFX8800GTX OR adding another 8800GTS 320 via SLI.
Currently running 1920x1200 on a OcUK (dgm) screen.
If I did go for the XFX there would only be about £20-£30 in it once I'd flee-bayed my old BFG8800GTS 320...
Main motivation for this is to support Age of Conan when it comes out next month.

Yeah I don't think I could justify spending that much extra to get a GTX to be honest. If the price were to move back down to the 170ish mark which it was when I bought mine a week ago then I would snap one up however.
