8Pack approved AMD Ryzen [email protected], 1800X performance smashing bundle :-)

8 pack are any of the B350 boards capable of 3.9ghz on the AMD 1700. I'm on a slightly tighter budget and wanted to see if I could possibly save on the motherboard.

Also is the NZXT S340 good enough to fit this setup? I'm really looking at buying.

I did not try any B350 seriously. VRM is very important to get the best out of this CPU in terms of OC. TWST tested some B350 with not much success for high end OC's.

For me this socket is around a long time so end users should if possible invest in the higher end boards and use for two cpu generations.

Yeah that case can fit the rad in the front so totally fine.

Sound advice.

Sure yeah as soon as its available I will add a couple of bundles. Probably with similar boards and memory with 120mm AIO cooler as primary option.

Like I said previously with this platform makes sense to invest in a higher end motherboard as the socket has a long shelf life. Vrm quality also essential for oc on this platform. For me Taichi and Hero are the best two options currently for both effciency and mem support.

I was sharing my experience, nothing else was implied. If you take the time to read my post i actually said I'm using 3600 so that maybe the reason. I think those supplements you've been taking are making you angry. The way you speak to people on here considering you are a member of staff is disgusting.

Lol

From the various bits and pieces I'm getting the feeling these 6 core chips are performing really well despite no benchmarks yet.

What are you using to measure the temps with ? I read that 60-65degrees on the 3.9 on on the 1700s on a cheap AIO, what voltage was that at ? My custom loop with a single 560 monsta ( fans at 500rpm ) has seen temps as high as 78c after a few hours of x264 runs on 1.4125v @ CPULLC5 & SOCLLC3 on a Asus x370pro measured with HWINFO64 in 22c ambient, I have a feeling that HWINFO64 is not the most accurate thing to measure the temps with.

So where does Ryzen stand now in regard to the latest BIOSes, ovclocking and that 3000/3200 RAM?

Still waiting for the new BIOS update which will hopefully address the memory issues. Although saying that my memory runs happily at 2933 without issue but would like to get at least 3200 or possibly higher, but will wait for the BIOS update instead of fiddling further :)

They don't test they guess....

Still higher mem dividers not working consistently. I tested upto date bios and 20+ reboots still not fully stable. Amd new Microdcode should fix this within 4 weeks.

Can't get my new bundle to boot 8pack, just powers up, dr debug says 'Ad', no video signal, 25 to 30 seconds later, reboots, rinse and repeat. Reseated everything, tried 1 mem stick in each slot, disconnected all USB devices and drives, reapplied grizzly, cleared cmos, removed battery etc, same loop. Psu is a platinum 860, and graphics card a new 1080ti - all working fine this morning in the ye olde z77. I now remember why I stopped messing with this stuff, problems like this just gives me headache and zero enjoyment these days.
