Hi guys,

I've just bought a Gigabyte P35 DS4, separate to the 24pin psu connector, there is an 8pin power connector that has a cover over 4 of the pins. The manual isn't very clear what this does and if i need to use all the 8pins or not. I've got a Corsair 620w psu, which has both 8pin and 4pin connectors, i just need to know which one to use.

The system is running a 8800 GTX overclocked an a Q6600 which I plan to overclock aswell.

Cheers,

LJ

p.s. I would searched the forum for the answer, but I can't find the search link, where has that gone? or am I just blind now :-/

If you have an 8-pin connector on your PSU, then remove that little cover and connect that. The cover is there so as to aid users who only have a 4-pin connector to plug in. Either works, however you could possibly have better overclocking results using 8-pin.

Ok cool, all the mobo manual said was that it was recommended for Intel Extreme Edition CPU.

Thanks,

Fingers crossed, I'm about to turn the machine on for the first time \o/
