Yeah its definately brings back the memories, but ive never ever seen a program about this incident that is in this style, it really shows how bad it was.

yep. am fairly sure it was on a couple of years ago. still sickening though. :(

5 years is a long time, and it doesnt feel like 5 years ago.

I remember watching it on tv and not even believing it to be true. It was not the shock of it happening but the sheer disbelief that this could happen and that it had to be fake.

Blue?

I heard today on the news it has been NINE years since Diana died, time is flying.
:o I still remember reading the initial report of that on AOL's wierd little news portal that came up when you logged on.

Yes I used AOL back then :o

I was just stepping out of a furniture delivery van in bromsgrove as the radio announced what had happened.

My GF dad was in Detroit that day having a meeting with GM. Someone burst into the meeting and told him to go back to Canada as the boarders were going to close.

http://www.projectrebirth.com/ is a website I visit frequently. It has some amazing information and some live cameras.

The anniversary plans are as follows:

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Governor George E. Pataki have announced New York City's plans to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the September 11th attacks. As with previous ceremonies, the observance will take place at the World Trade Center site on the morning of Monday, September 11th. Spouses, partners and significant others will play a large role in this year's ceremony by reading the names of the victims, while music will provide a backdrop throughout the program. The ceremony will pause at four moments - twice to mark the times that each plane hit the towers, and twice to mark the time when each tower fell. The first moment of silence will be at 8:46 AM, and houses of worship will be asked to toll their bells at that time. While the names are read, family members will be able to descend the ramp to the lowest level of the site where they may lay flowers. The ceremony will conclude at approximately noon, but the site will remain open to families until 3:00 PM. At sundown, the “Tribute in Light” will return for one night, in memory of those lost and as a symbol of the spirit of our community. The “Tribute in Light” will be located at West and Morris Streets in Lower Manhattan.

I've got a pathetic memory, but I can remember where I was, sitting in the same seat I am now, watching the tv and posting updates on here.

This is an engrossing programme and even though I have the DVD, I'm still watching it again.

At the time I heard about it, I was on my way back from 6th form, and I asked my brother to stop talking because I heard something on the coach radio about the world trade centre collapsing - I remember we were listening to Radio 1, and I found it odd that there was no chat, just a continuous stream of songs.

its bizarre - 5 years - i'm still working in the same lab - i can remember the exact place i was stood in the lab listening to the radio (not allowed now), a couple of people were talking and i told them to shut up as i thought i heard that a plane had hit the world trade center on the news - i just assumed that it was a light aircraft :(

I've been watching the program on channel 4 aswell. Seeing the camera man right in the middle of all that mayhem, really makes you realise how bad it was. All that smoke, dust and debri.

The day it happend, I got sent home as I was feeling pretty sick, I can remember seeing a car which had crashed into a local news agents. Smashed right into the side of the building, it was like 2 metres behind the wall. It must have happend the night before. Anyway, I got home and turned on the TV to find this all over the news.

Sheesh. I remember this day oh too well.. We arrived in the UK the exact day, and the thought that we were going to stop off in New York instead of going through Hong Kong just stays with me.

This show is bringing back so many memories.

I was getting ready to university and then 9/11 kicked off :(

I remember being told in my bedroom wondering whether to buy fresher's fair tickets and stuff. My mom came in and told me and it didn't really sink in until I got to uni and was in my first (of many ;)) pubquiz. The guy with the mike announced that England was at war and I remember thinking "holy moly....."

RIP to those that passed away.
