Without meaning to start another 'spec me a motor for x amount that does y amount' threads, I'm currently trying to get a new car sorted for a job Im starting very shortly, Its about 700miles weekly drive so I really need something more ecomincal then my 480 Tub which will do 30mpg at a push.

I've been looking at spending as little as possible, and came across this:

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...make=&model=&min_pr=&max_pr=2000&max_mileage=

Thoughts?

I have a 96 1.9TD CL, which i presume that model is also. I paid £750 for it, its been to the moon and back at 160,000 but ive done 3k miles in the 2 months i've had it and it's never missed a beat. Starts every morning fine even when the car was covered in frost a few weeks back.

Yours looks in better nick than mine too so should be good for many more years to come yet.

I think the general consensus is that these old diesels are pretty indestructible from what i've read online and are pretty good veg oil coverters should be you so inclined.

Got 2 turbos Malt, and neither are being sold :P Just got it running at 172hp (rolling road tested!).

Can't seem to find anything HDI without astronomcial mileage, I've got more than a grand to play with (more like 3 at most) I just can't justify spending that much unless I need to!
