9800GX2 + 9800GTX+ = tri-SLI?

quick question. I googled but found mixed answers. Is this possible or not?

no u cant sli diferent cards but u can leave 9800gtx+ for physx but it would be a waste of energy

I wanted to try tri-sli on my P45 board to mess with something unique.

It may not be impossible but can't say for sure... depends how nVidia have set it up - might theoretically be possible to flash the 9800GTX+ with the bios from one of the GX2 cores dunno... prolly not.

but if u really want tri fire u could sell 9800gx2 and buy 2 more 9800gtx+

edit: i would sell all of them and get 5870 or 5970

how-ever, your motherboard is p45 - an intel chipset motherboard that only handles crossfire, so no SLI opitions on that motherboard i'm affraid

Yeah I will probably end up selling the 9800GTX and getting a 5770 actually then another one in CF later.

and you can have SLI on p45 with some mods

The unofficial SLI "support" may allow combinations locked out in the official drivers also.
