9800GX2 benched....

Card looks pretty weird without that metal shroud on it, hard to tell whats the front and whats the back.

True, that's the best way to do it though I think, have one cooler in the centre and one of the PCB's turned upside-down so they both use the same cooler.

And yea, thread title is wrong. :o

stick to my 8800 gt's me thinks

better performing than the new card, lol.

noticed the same with last cards tbh, single card with 2 chips seems to be worse performing than 2 seperate cards, no idea why.

not a bad score for crysis there.

though the other scores are a bit of a let down. not like i'm buying it though.

Probably, like the previous GX2, clocked lower. The previous was 500 (GX2) vs. 550 (GT) on the core and 600 (GX2) vs. 700 (GT). So it could be 550 on this new GX2 vs. 650 on the GTS or something?

ok, its just me or this does sound exactly when Ati were about to release r600 and the pre-benchs said that r600 was way inferior to g80.. and ati boys said: its a driver issue???

The card this thread is on about is the 9800 GX2, which is 2x G92 GTS's bodged together, its due out on Valentines day, the 9800 GTX is a single card due later, which is nothing to do with this.:p

Thread title **** up for the win. :D

Dear god, the G100 is even an 8 series, they are seriously taking the **** now, how much longer are they gona keep trying to shove 2006 cards down our damn throats!!!

oh come off it. the 8800 series of card were and still are the best. if they simply changed the title, it would make no difference to the card.

the 8800 has such a good reputation, why should they need to change it

Why do they need to change it, how about because its old tech, who cares if the 8 series are still the best, they are bloody ancient now, its time for new, were in 2008 for gods sake.

They still aint churning out Betamax video recorders for us to buy at £300 a pop are they.
